iSilo

What is iSilo?

 

iSilo is a third party document reader; in order to be able to read eBooks in iSilo format you must first download and install the iSilo reader.

If you haven?t done so yet, you can download a copy compatible with your device at:

www.isilo.com

What is my iSilo User ID?

 

An iSilo User ID (UID) is a unique identifier for your Handheld or PC which is used to generate registration codes in real time for your eBooks in iSilo format.

It only has to be entered once and then all titles you purchase will be available at your "Bookshelf" along with your registration codes.

If you loose or replace your device, you just have to login to your account and enter the iSilo UID for your new device and the registration codes for all your eBooks will be automatically generated.

How do I get my iSilo User ID?

Once you have iSilo installed on your device please do the following:

1. Tap or click on iSilo to open the program.



2. Tap or click on the "Tools" or "Help" menu, depending on your platform, and then on "System Information"; a screen dialog comes up which shows your User name and your iSilo User ID number.



3. Enter the exact number displayed on the iSilo User ID field.

Note: If you plan to read your eBooks on two devices (i.e. your Handheld and your PC computer), repeat steps 1 through 3 for your second device.

How do I enter the registration code for the title(s) I purchased?

Once you have iSilo installed on your device please do the following:

1. Install the .pdb file(s) for the document(s) you downloaded to your handheld using the standard install procedure for your device. If you have previously installed the demo file to your handheld, just install the full version over it.



2. Open iSilo on your device by tapping on its icon.



3. Tap on the document name at the iSilo document list, not on the ?UNREGISTERED? button of the iSilo document list screen; this will bring up the registration screen for the document that says: ?The document named: ?name of the document you purchased? requires a registration code. Please enter it below".



4. Enter the registration code exactly as provided. Also make sure that you are not tapping on the demo file but on the one that you have installed on step 1.

I just had to do a hard reset and re-enter all my information on my device, but when I enter the registration code displayed at ?My Bookshelf? for my titles I get an error. What is happening?

When you perform a hard reset on your device all information is lost, including your user name.

If you entered a different username on your device after the hard reset (i.e. you changed any character or case for your name, from ?John Doe? to ?john doe? or ?J. Doe?) your iSilo user ID will change, therefore your codes will no longer work since they are keyed to your iSilo user ID.

Pleasedo the following:

1. Retrieve your new iSilo User ID by following the procedure described in this FAQ.



2. Login to your account, go to ?Change Account Info? and replace the iSilo User ID for the device in which you performed a hard reset for your new iSilo User ID and click on submit.



3. Go to ?My Bookshelf?; all you purchased publications will now display a registration code keyed to your new iSilo User ID.



4. Enter the new registration code by following the procedure described in this FAQ.

Mobipocket is a third party document reader; in order to be able to read eBooks in Mobipocket format you must first download and install the FREE Mobipocket reader.

What is my Personal ID (PID)?

 

Personal ID (PID) is a unique identifier of your Handheld or PC used by the Mobipocket Reader. It is displayed in the About Box of the Mobipocket Reader software for mobile devices or at the "My Reading Devices" menu section of the PC Reader..

If you do not have Mobipocket Reader installed, please download it first and then fill the PID in the "Change Account Info" section of your lawpda.com account.
